Crypto-analytics platform Santiment is revealing that Cardano (ADA) led all other blockchain protocols in a critical metric this year.
According to submissions to software development hosting platform GitHub, Cardano recorded 2,434 commits ahead of Polkadot (POINT), which recorded the second highest level of development activity among blockchain protocols.
Polkadot recorded 2,065 Github commits in 2022, while Cosmos Hub came in third (ATOM) logged 1622 Github commits.
Ethereum saw the fourth highest level of development activity in 2022 with 1,485 Github commits while scaling the Polygon solution (MATIC) ranked tenth with 526 Github commits.
“Top blockchain protocols of 2022 by development activity:
1) ADA [Cardano]
2) POINT [Polkadot]
3) ATOM [Cosmos]
4) ETH [Ethereum]
5) IPC [Internet Computer]
6) EGLD [Elrond]
7) FLOW [Flow]
8) OP [Optimism]
9) fit [Aptos]
10) MATICA [Polygon].”
The crypto analytics platform has said that intense development activity is optimistic for a blockchain protocol, as it means new features will be shipped or developers are confident the protocol will be a success.
Santiment says Aptos saw high development activity before its October launch, but the pace has slowed since. The cryptanalysis platform also says that Solana’s development activity (SUN) is “still strong” but has fallen sharply in 2022.
“Aptos has been working very hard before the mainnet and relaxed afterwards.
Solana could be here on a chart, his developer activity is still strong and within the past, but the metric is declining considerably throughout the year.”
